ITV This Morning Recipes - Let’s Get Cooking!
This one, I see this picture, right? Reminds me of the auntie down the street who always makes the best snacks. Simple, but packed with flavor. Okay, focus! Let’s see what we need and how to make it. Don’t worry, easy peasy!
Recipe: Quick & Easy Fried Noodles (Inspired by ITV This Morning)
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of dried egg noodles (or any noodles you like, ya?)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or peanut oil, if you feeling fancy)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (garlic makes everything better!)
- 1/2 cup of your favorite vegetables, chopped (carrots, cabbage, bell peppers – whatever you got!)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium is good, don’t want to get too salty)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, but adds a nice umami kick)
- 1 tsp sesame oil (a little goes a long way!)
- Pinch of sugar (balances the saltiness)
- Optional: Chili flakes, for some heat!
Instructions:
- First things first, cook the noodles according to the package directions. Don’t overcook them, they should be al dente! Drain ’em good, and rinse with cold water. This stops the cooking process and prevents them from getting sticky.
- Heat up the oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Wok hei is key! Okay, if you don’t have wok, regular pan also can lah.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for like, 30 seconds, until fragrant. Don’t burn it! Burnt garlic is no good.
- Throw in the chopped vegetables and stir-fry for a couple minutes, until they start to soften.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together. Make sure the vegetables and garlic are evenly distributed.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Toss again to coat the noodles evenly.
- Add a pinch of sugar and chili flakes (if using) for extra flavor.
- Cook for another minute or two, until the noodles are heated through and everything is nicely combined.
- Serve immediately. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds, if you like. Enjoy lah!
